Poseidon is the god of the sea, horses, and earthquakes.

1. Poseidon was the father of two horses, Pegasus and Arion
2. Poseidon was a part of many affairs and the father of many children
3. Poseidon was the father of the Cyclops Polyphemus, who asked Poseidon to curse Odysseus to a troubled and dangerous journey back home
4. Poseidon had a grudge against Odysseus in the Odyssey, for winning the Trojan War, because he wanted the Trojans to win, and for blinding his son Polyphemus
5. After Cronus's rule was over, Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon divided up the land the sky, underworld, and water to one of themselves
6. Poseidon is equivalent to the Roman god Neptune.
7. Poseidon was also the god of horses, earthquakes, rivers, and flood and droughts
8. Some symbols of Poseidon are tridents and dolphins
9. Poseidon wanted the city of Athens to be named after himself, and so did Athena. They arranged a contest to see who would be patron to the city. Poseidon struck his trident into the ground making a salt water spring, representing naval power. Athena planted an olive tree, representing peace and prosperity. The Athenians accepted the olive tree, and let Athena be the patron.

I chose blues and light greens for my god and songs that sound powerful and watery, because Poseidon being the god of water, blue and green represent that, and the song sounded powerful, mysterious, and civilized, just like the Greek civilization.
